Paint me a picture
The lanes are bustling with life at this time of year, jazz bands, people eating al fresco and this chap who's always there in the summer months selling his sketches and drawings.

All aboard
From the Carousel on the seafront - this little girl's Hove bound (to let you into a secret, she's my little girl!) with her debut on Brighton Daily Photo.

Passacaglia
A famous statue/artwork on our seafront (my son calls it the walk wall - as he like's running up it)

Skylark
It's been a cracking week weather-wise down here on the south coast - which will obviously change as the weekend approaches :(
Taken down on the prom Nr where yesterday's shot was taken is the boat "SM 5" also called the Skylark.
Which reminded me of a catchphrase from my youth - a TV programme called Noah and Nelly - "All aboard the Skylark"

Cockles, Whelks, Mussels, Prawns and Jellied Eels
A common sight at most seaside resorts is the seafood stall - this one is "Sea Haze".
This review taken from the Guardian website:
Sea Haze: 207 Kings Road Arches, Brighton, East Sussex, 01273 777007. This family-run shop has been running for 15 years and comprises ex-fisherman owners who really know their stuff. Produce is sourced off local day boats and includes shellfish such as crabs, whelks and mussels. The shop also runs the Brighton fishing museum located next door, which has been kitted out to represent a photo of the original shop taken in the 1920s.

The Top Bananas
These stilt-walking musicians caused a bit of a stir on the sea-front and entertained my two children!
"The Top Bananas are a stiltwalking band of musicians, based in Brighton , England. This band on stilts features a leaping monkey on bouncy stilts who plays an oil-can guitar, harmony vocals, a horn section, and a rhythm section. The band is all about fun and plays a selection of Jazz, Funk, Disco and Ska classics. Besides the Jungle Band there are also Western, Sporty, 70's Disco, Hippy/Flowerchildren, Floppy Toppers and of course Black Tie versions available."

Seafood Paella
Had a fantastic father's day lunch down in Hove yesterday at the new Otello's brasserie. Seafood Paella with a Greek Salad to boot - fine fare and shared with the family - fantastic!
