Jazz in the lanes

It's just great when the sun's shining in Brighton - on my (regular) trip for lunch at Pret I pass this happy scene of people eating outdoors to the wafting mellow sounds of Jazz in the Lanes.

Festival of Speed Goodwood

Just along the coast from Brighton is Goodwood where the festival of speed is held.

A cracking day out where all sorts of classic vehicles and bikes race the track and you can get down and dirty with the vehicles in the paddocks.

This mean machine pictured is "Captain America" a replica of the bike used by Peter Fonda in the American Classic - Easy Rider

On Saturday - Peter Fonda was at Goodwood and rode this machine up the track! Awesome.

As Brighton goes through it's mini heatwave - day three according to the met office.

Making maximum use of the weather here's this view of Brighton seafront as seen from the sea!

Spinal Tap at Wembley Arena

I couldn't resist posting the (albeit poor) photo taken from inside Wembley Arena last night whilst Spinal Tap were on stage performing Stonehenge - looks like this time they got it right!

Back from holidays - Brighton and Hove photography

Apols for the lack of service lately! We've been away in Italy and Spain for 10 days and we're just getting back into the swing of things.

My wife Sarah has launched our hobbyist/weekend business which is a family portrait studio. Take a look and let us know what you think.

So from today normal service will be resumed - a photo a day of our great city Brighton. Watch this space. It's good to be back - and we're experiencing a mini-heatwave here on the south coast.

The Kissing Statue

Not the first time it's appeared on this site it first did so back in April 06. This is the Kiss Wall by the artist Bruce Williams which if you go to his site reportedly you can buy this for £10,0000! You can see more of his work here

More shots of Brighton in the Sunshine

When the weather's good I sometimes have a secret stroll around Brighton to capture the Daily Photo during my lunch break. I think this one summarises Brighton Daily Photo very well.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.....

Brighton continues to basque in it's summer temperatures this week with another sunny day forecast today.

One thought did strike me travelling back into Brighton at the weekend just as the hoardes were leaving. Whilst we have a lot to offer in our city we don't make it easy for our visitors. There's not enough parking, we rip-them off when they do park, the seafront cafe's and fish and chip stalls are still tacky - and we're just not over enthusiastic when providing customer service to our summer visitors.

We should be really grateful for the tourist £££ in Brighton as it's keeping our town alive in these difficult trading conditions - we should embrace our visitors and really make them feel welcome - who knows, they might even come back!

View from the office window - Scorchio in Brighton!

After a stunning weekend of hot weather in Brighton it continues, returning after the half-term week commuters donned their sunglasses this morning as temperatures of 25 degrees + are predicted for today - sunshine woohoo!
